Alternating Alternating in Mystic Festival

Simple alternating bands of colour, as the name goes.

Ripples Ripples in Mystic Festival

Bands of colour with macrame in between. They remind me of ripples in a pond. :)

Confusion Confusion in Fair Day Cloud

Twists, stripes, bands and macrame whirl colours into a myriad.

Centerpiece Centerpiece in Mystic Festival

Sweet bands of colour and a "flower" in the centre.

Plaited Plaited in Solid Royal

Bands of colour alternate with plaits to give a very simple but classic design.

Twisted Twisted in Solid Royal

Twists and stripes add a sense of something sinister here.

Mirror Mirror in Juice C.

If you fold this bracelet/anklet in half, you’ll see that the two halves are a spitting image of each other!

ColoursY
Fair Day Cloud
Blue & White
Confusion in Fair Day Cloud

Don't these two colours remind you of very fine weather? Windy and not too much sun, plus just enough cloud cover, make for a perfect day at the beach!

Mystic Festival
Violet & Blue
Centerpiece in Mystic Festival

Blue and violet, when mixed, have an air of fantasy about them. Don't they conjure images of fairy folk at their dance parties in your mind? :)

Solid Royal
White & Violet
Plaited in Solid Royal

Warm, dark purple has always been the colour of the king's royal robes, and now the same colours lend a touch of grandeur to the anklets too.

August
Red & White
Ripples in August

Every Singaporean knows that a combination of red and white just screams "National Day". But, as a good friend of mine pointed out, candy canes are red and white too.

Hence the name "August", the month of National Day, as well as the perfect word to describe Christmas, because august also means grand.

Blue-blooded
Blue & Red
Plaited in Blue-blooded

Royalty has always been referred to as being blue-blooded. When I was a little girl, I never doubted for a moment that their blood was truly, literally blue! :D

Sari
Violet & Red
Confusion in Sari

Saris sometimes use rich, dark colours and dramatic designs, making them one of the most beautiful traditional dresses around!

Merry Christmas
Red & Green
Confusion in Merry Christmas

Just in time for the gorgeous festive season! Nothing says "Christmas" anything like a combination of red and green.

This Christmas, do remember to spare a thought for the needy as well. :)

Kebaya
Green & White
Alternating in Kebaya

I remember one Hari Raya a few years ago, when I saw a family of four decked out in their best and ready to go visiting. The mother wore a green kebaya with white details, and her twin daughters had on white kebayas with green details. I thought it was just the most adorable thing!

Mother Earth
Blue & Green
Ripples in Mother Earth

Yup, climate change is the big thing everywhere now.

If you think about it really carefully, all of us can play our part in reversing the damage, however small an influence. Always think of Earth as Mother. We should, as her children, take care of her, and give her the very best.

What have you done for Mother today?

Raya
Violet & Green
Confusion in Raya

When I was a little, little girl, I loved every Hari Raya, because the sweet Malay aunty next door would put up beautiful decorative ketupats made of green and violet ribbons.

And when the festival was over, she'd take them down and give them to me!

Dark Desires
Violet & Black
Twisted in Dark Desires

Dark, sinister hearts are captured in this combination; the same hearts behind evil warlords, witches, black magic, dungeons, potions and wizardry.

Zebra
White & Black
Plaited in Zebra

The connection between B&W and zebras is instantaneous; need I say more? :)

punkbleed
Black & Red
Alternating in punkbleed

For all you punk rockers out there! The rich red has a striking contrast against the sleek black.

This one's inspired by a J-rocker friend of mine.
You know who you are. :)

Stardusk
Blue & Black
Centerpiece in Stardusk

The first star of the night is usually the one you see at dusk; such is the magical part of each day where time seems to speed up because it's getting dark so quickly.

Wear the magic of stars and mystical nights on your ankles and wrists!

And yes, I do love Stardust, the movie. Claire Danes is such an adorable Yvaine. :)

Witchy Brew
Black & Green
Ripples in Witchy Brew

There's something about witches in Enid Blyton's stories I love so much. The witch's potion is always green, bubbling in a blackened cauldron; her cunning, black cat sitting quietly by the side, his green eyes sparkling ever so slightly.

Daisy
Yellow & White
Plaited in Daisy

Daisies in summer are one of the sweetest things in the world!

Gween
Yellow & Blue
Centerpiece in Gween

The fundamentals of kindergarten Art -
colour mixing! Yeyyow and brue make gween.

Blackberry Custard
Yellow & Violet
Confusion in Blackberry Custard

The sweetness of caramel custard paired with tart blackberries give a very delectable dessert.

S.T.O.P.
Red & Yellow
Ripples in S.T.O.P.

Nature's warning signs flash very bright, like the yellow on a bee, or traffic light red.

Sunny Woods
Green & Yellow
Alternating in Sunny Woods

Nothing much comes close to taking a relaxing walk in the woods and enjoying the rays of sunshine that find their way through the branches and leaves.

Bumblebee
Black & Yellow
Confusion in Bumblebee

Black and yellow remind me of hardworking bees, the honey they make, and a certain bear of little brain! (:

Autumn Sky
Blue & Orange
Ripples in Autumn Sky

Autumn is a really nice season, where the weather is neither too hot nor too cold. Leaves turn yellow, red and orange, forming a nice contrast against the azure sky.

Juice C.
Orange & White
Mirror in Juice C.

Don't the crisp colours remind you of orange juice, full of Vitamin C?

Deewali
Violet & Orange
Mirror in Deewali

The orange in this colour combination reflect the beauty of the oil lamps used in The Festival of Lights, while the violet gives a pretty contrast.

Nian
Orange & Red
Twisted in Nian

Legend has it that a monster called Nian often terrorized villages in ancient China. The people could do nothing about this but try to avoid him. Then one day a wise man told the villagers that the colour red could ward off this monster. The people put up red decorations all over their houses and lit red fire crackers. Nian was never seen near their village again.

Mandarin
Orange & Green
Plaited in Mandarin

Mandarin oranges are always sweeter than normal oranges. And cuter too!

Pumpkin by Night
Black & Orange
Centerpiece in Pumpkin by Night

Although we hardly celebrate it in Singapore, I love Halloween for the way it fills the air with magic. And sometimes it isn't just fairy-dust-and-magic-wands magic, it's slightly darker with witches, wizards and witchcraft galore!

Shower of Sunshine
Yellow & Orange
Confusion in Shower of Sunshine

I once chanced upon a picture of a cartoon elephant pouring sunshine out of its trunk and it looked so cheerful! So I thought I'd save the beauty of sunshine into this anklet.
